Based in Norway, Scotland, and Canada, WellFish Tech is a dynamic and forward-looking company. WellFish Tech is developing the global standard for aquatic health management through continuous fish health monitoring using rapid clinical chemistry analysis resulting in predictive fish health forecasting.

Wellfish Tech is looking for an experienced and proactive Managing Director to add value to our organization and help us meet our ambitious plans. The primary aim of this position is overall leadership of the Norwegian organization and to foster and broaden the company’s commercial activity that will lead to sustainable growth in Norway and internationally. The first year will be all about sales and commercial activities with focus on building new customers in Norway. 

Main responsibilities:

• Overall leadership and direction in Norway
• Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
• Direct and motivate key employees to the management team
• Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
• Responsible for managing the annual operating budget, forecast, and communication of various business needs to support and service companies
• Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
• Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
• Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
• Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
• Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
• Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
• Maintain and develop an ongoing operational plan
• Participate in strategic planning with the executive team
• Build networks inside and outside of the organization
• Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement

Qualifications and experience:

• Proven experience as Managing director or other relevant roles
• Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
• Be familiar with the aquaculture industry in Norway and have a genuine interest in fish health
• In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
• Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
• Organisational and leadership skills
• Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English
• BSc/BA in business administration, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
