What is the job role?

We are searching for a Chief Product Officer to play a key part in realising Gael Force Group’s plans for transformation and delivering the overall product development programme of the company.This will be driven by deep understanding and insight into Marine Aquaculture biology.You will oversee the short, medium, and long-term technical development, strategic direction, and execution of Gael Force Group’s product portfolio, including product vision, product innovation, product design, and product lifecycle management.

You will be responsible for leading and growing a top tier engineering team and be at the forefront of the company’s transformational product development programs. You will play an instrumental role in continuing to build on the vision of our product range to be sector leading while building out a high-performing team and driving the success of our products globally.

You will report directly to the Group Managing Director and work closely with the sales and marketing functions to build insights into our markets and customers. You will identify new business opportunities including, new technologies, trends, products and services by understanding the market/competition and influence commercial decisions accordingly.

What we are looking for:

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Understanding of the biological challenges and opportunities of Marine Aquaculture.
  • Established track record of innovating new technology products to global aquaculture markets.
  • Experience in working as a Director at board management level.
  • Experience in Product Development.
  • Experience of managing product lifecycles.
  • Background in managing multi-discipline product development teams
  • Experience in working at a senior level with Product Development disciplines and teams.
  • Superior interpersonal skills that drive impact and influence in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership experience with continuous improvement of smaller-scale changes — and then weaving them together to drive technical advancement and outcomes for competitive advantage.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to results, leading change, and motivation.
  • Commercial and financial acumen and ability to prepare investment cases for projects.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently present technical content and progress to colleagues.
  • Skills in engaging stakeholders and translating technical details across the technical divide, keeping non-technical directors apprised of technical strategy and progress.

Desirable

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a related discipline.
